Our Vision

Realizing the challenges the pandemic would present, the current School Board proactively and continually adjusted its programming to support and lift up all students. Recognizing various systems of support were needed more than ever before, the Souderton Area School District invested in and applied enhanced levels of support across mental health and academics, all of which were purpose built to help students do their best. As a result, the district has seen a significant reduction in learning loss, we stand ahead of many districts in this regard, and we continue to meet our mission of educating children.

Through smart decision making, an enhanced system of support and leveraging our talented group of teachers and staff, we will continue working tirelessly to erase the learning loss experienced by students as a result of the pandemic.

We will not stand for indoctrination of your children, as they should receive unbiased education and evaluate all learning opportunities with an inquisitive mind. Our goal is to develop well-educated, critical thinkers that become future leaders and producers in our great community and beyond.

Academic Excellence: 

Did you know that your school taxes are lower than the other districts in our county? Yes, it's true! The Souderton School Board fights hard to keep it that way, and never forget that their job is to represent ALL taxpayers equally throughout the district. In fact, Souderton was one of the first school districts to implement performance-based budgeting. It worked so well, that they were duly recognized for their successful implementation, and testified in front of the Senate to help it become the official budgeting method for the Commonwealth’s annual expenditures. Proof that performance-based budgeting does not diminish opportunity, Souderton is known for exceptional programs. We’ve listed just a few of them here: Mandarin Chinese 4, Full Day Kindergarten, Computer Science K-12, MTSS-Multi Tier System Support and Responsive Classroom – supporting children’s needs exactly where they are in the process.

As a team of experienced School Board Directors, business owners, and private professionals, we commit to investing your tax dollars as if they are our own, with integrity and fiscal responsibility.  We will push back on unnecessary spending, while ensuring that every dollar benefits the students.

Maintaining Low Taxes: 

We believe involvement of parents and guardians is key to keeping children healthy and safe. We object to the idea that “experts” know your children better than you do. Every child is unique, and no one loves a child more than his or her own parents. Moms, dads, and guardians are the authority on their children and should be warmly welcomed as a partner in the education and social emotional development of their kids. When elected we commit to transparency and partnerships with those that love and know the students best, their parents.

Parental Rights:

The Souderton Area School District has always had a clear position on character counts and anti-bullying. This group of candidates feels strongly about maintaining and building upon the strength of an inclusive environment. It is our duty to keep politics and personal viewpoints of staff out of our classrooms, so that all students and employees feel safe and included.  We believe one child’s needs should never outweigh or overshadow the needs of another.

We will always work together to have and show compassion to those that are different from us, without sacrificing our own beliefs and needs for safety.  Students in SASD should feel confident and proud of their individuality, while embracing our many commonalities which includes being Souderton Strong!
